Brides go to great lengths to slim down

One in seven women said they'd fast for a week if it meant getting to their ideal weight before the wedding, while 36 percent would try diet pills, 6 percent would have surgery and 29 percent would move in with their mother-in-law (who knew nagging helps you lose weight?).

Among the more realistic brides out there, 43 percent said they were doubling their workout time to slim down, and 41 percent were on a strict diet.

Brides who also happen to be editors at the magazine shared their slimming secrets: one trained for a marathon before the big day, another was too stressed out to find time to eat and a third slipped into some Spanx to look flawless walking down the aisle.
