Why Exercise?

After trying exercise, calorie restriction, fighting hunger and cravings, diet pills or special foods many people are finally successful losing weight following an Atkins-type program without exercise. That’s wonderful, but there’s more to health than just weight loss. It distresses me to read comments on low carb forums when people say they will never exercise again because they can lose weight without it. I know it’s tempting to fall into that trap. It’s so easy not to have to set aside time in a busy schedule for an activity that makes most of us happy only when it’s done. Yet there are many reasons to exercise regardless of weight.

Expand your goal

I recommend people embrace the bigger picture when they begin Atkins: Yes, I want to lose weight but another primary goal is to maintain or regain my health.
